Do they have a "no stars" option? The food was VERY overcooked. It was way too expensive for the lack of quality...On top of all that the waitress did not check on us ONE TIME during the hour wait we had (they lost our ticket). DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME, OR TASTEBUDS!!!
1) The usher/greeter was disrespectful.2) There was weird black spots on the hibachi table. We thought it was soy sauce. I went ahead and cleaned it up myself. 15 minutes later, the black spots reappeared. That's when we realized the grease trap above us was dripping at alarming rate. 3) Our waiter was a smartass. Every time I made a request, he made smartass comments and he acted/dressed like a druggy you see in movies.4) The food was okay but the cheif looked miserable. He acted like he was there against his will.
I saw a mice run into the closet of the grill room where the booster seats are held. Left immediately.
This place has really went downhill first the gentleman at the front desk didn't even respond to us until somebody else came around and asked him after that he still didn't get off his butt to seat us I had a party of 4 the waiter who still must have been in high school spent more time away from the table than anyone I've ever seen will not be back worst service ever only good thing about the whole night Wesley cook noticed we were aggravated and tried to get the waiter to pick up his Slack it was not just my party of 4 that he neglected it was everybody at my table and one I originally set down and ask a question he ignored me until the point of where my girlfriend had to literally yell at him
Absolute crap. The food is good... If you can get it. 20 minutes before anyone offered to take a drink order or acknowledge us. We got up to walk out and the "manager" and a server were sitting in the lobby not picking up any slack. Absolutely the worst hibachi place in town. Go to Fuji, Wasabi, or sushiko first. Avoid this place at all costs until they get competent management and servers. Hot garbage. If Google would let me give it zero stars I would.
Was waiting for the cook to come out to the grill and start cooking, but a roach came instead. The funny thing about it was that everyone who was seated with us stayed there. I don't know what to make of the people that stayed. Was the food that good that a roach can crawl right in front of you and you still choose to stay? I'll never know!
The waiter was very nice and did a great job at getting our drinks and orders. I would recommend to him that he work at a better place because he could do better. The facility was DIRTY. food on the tables, food on the ground, food in the chairs. And the food was so displeasing. I recommend going to Fuji steak house, down the road. The cook just quickly did his cooking and then left like we were an inconvenience for him that we were here. Our steaks were not cooked to our specification and the flavor was very blan and boring. I know it's difficult to keep a grill clean, but the sight of theirs made me loose my apatite. I DO NOT plan on coming back here, EVER!
Attentive staff. Great food. Great environment. And decent prices. All in all a good place to go if you have some time to kill!
Sushi was decent. Hibachi was over priced for the quality. Service was bad. Did not eat at the grill.
Rice was mushy. The chef kept apologizing about it and said that it wasn't prepared right. Then he cooked all the meat before the vegetables. The vegetables tasted burnt. We complained to the manager and he said he would knock some money off of our check. He took a whopping $7.00 off a $120.00 check. Never again!

I've never had a bad experience at this Shogun. The food is delicious and the staff is great! We had a couple at our table yesterday that literally complained from the time they sat down to when they got up and left in the middle of their meal. They were so rude and I felt so terrible to the chef (who by the way was awesome!)! I wouldn't let a couple petty reviews steer you away. This place is great!
Horrible place. We asked for the alcoholic drink menu. Once we ordered our drinks they told us there was no one there to make the mix drinks. Then they switched servers without any communication. So the next server had to retake our order after we had already ordered. We were the first people at the table. After waiting 30 mins to even get our salads, we had decided to just get our food to go. When we got up to head to the to go area we noticed that the cook had wheeled his station to the table that had been sat 30 mins after us. As we were waiting for our to go which also took over 30 mins, numerous guest were complaining about how their food was being cooked before they had even recieved their drinks. The workers were unhelpful and it seems as though they were avoiding us. They were clearly under staffed which is clearly a problem and it is effecting their services. This experience makes me not want to return to this restaurant.
Love the food and the show is great experience for the kids...So much fun.

overall I'm happy with the service and the attention from the chefs you get a good portion of food for a pretty decent price... I usually ask for less with us on my rice and they don't mind taking special orders... overall I think this is a great place for Japanese teppanyaki style food
The food was good. But the customer service was pretty horrible. The cook was good, he was probably the nicest person there. Every single person that worked there was on their phone the whole time we were there. Even thedishwashers came out into the dining area to play on their phone.
Some of the better Japanese food in the area. We went on a Sunday lunch. The Maitre d might try seating adults and family/child patrons accordingly. Also, the either the tables surrounding the grill are either too high or chairs too low. Either way, they do not seat 9 comfortably - 7 max.
We went to Shogun as a going away dinner for friends in the military. We almost didn't based on the reviews. We went at 6:00pm on a Friday night. We expected a wait. There was no wait at all. The service was great. The entertainment from the chef was awesome. The food was great. We had shrimp, chicken and the filet. All were great. Will be going back again.
Love this place! Great atmosphere and great sushi!
Amazing showmanship. It's not Benihana's but for Columbus, it's good enough. Love going here.
I am a personal witness to someone being hired here and then let go for being pregnant. Not only is it ILLEGAL but both the owner and the manager listed this as the reason she could not be a server here. This business is sexist against women, in spite of their problem of having a large number of employees who are unwilling to show up to work. Food is overpriced anyway. Do not eat here. Go to Habachi Buffet. Get some decent sushi. Spare these sexist men the business.
Placed two orders. The filet (medium) and lobster and the hibachi (medium rare) and shrimp. Both steaks were well done. The lobster was overcooked and the shrimp was missing. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Sushi was average at best. Terrible, incompetant server. Dirty bathroom. Couldn't get the credit card machine to work. Manager is a clown
Today, Dec. 20, 2015. If I could add a NEGATIVE STAR I think I would have done it today, but since that doesn't exist I had to to one star so I could post a comment. Rodents exist. We all know this, but to actually see a dead mouse underneath the table cooktop next to where you're about to eat...well I completely lost my appetite. To make matters worse. Not one apology from the manager. Nothing. He just looked at me and said " we know!" I won't be back. I'm sure the family sitting next to me won't be back either. We all left together.
9.13.16 Worse I've ever had. Chicken was over cooked, vegetables were salty, the chef didn't not entertain at all. He just cooked, said thank you and left. In addition, I ordered sushi (which was not good) and asked for all sauces that came with it to be on the side. They gave me 1 of 3 sauces. The server actually checked his cell phone while attending to us. Thier main menu says "ask your server for the drink menu." When I asked the server informed me that the main menu was the drink menu." I just got up and went to the bar to see for myself. The Service wasn't horrible but I can't say the same for the food. Definitely wasn't worth the $30.
Very pleasant to find my steak cooked to shoe leather after sitting and waiting for almost an hour past when my order was quoted to be ready. Will not be returning; don't waste your time.
The service was very slow and not attentive. Never offered drink refills. But the biggest disappointment was the food! It was over cooked, way to greasy, no real flavor and small portions except the rice... Don't waste your money! I expected a lot more from dishes starting at $15 a plate !
Not good at all..!Slow service, bathrooms very nasty, and not very professional nor accommodating as a restaurant. . Sad
The service here is horrible and we have been several times. I was giving them chance to many and will not ever be back there! The food is good but be prepared to have your server mess everything up and disrespectful!
Food was good staff was nice. The cockroach that came down the wall to see me while I was waiting for my bill was friendly also... but unfortunately I will not be coming back to visit.
Our hibachi chef, was excellent. Very friendly and prepared the food well. I read about the amount of salt mentioned by others, but he actually put little in, and reduced the copious amounts of butter you usually see. I had steak and scallops. Both were good and prepared well. We had a sushi roll as an appetizer and that was good as well.
Why have I been here for 2 hours and have yet to even see the chef? The service may have been good in another era, but it SUCKS now.
Despite what other reviewers have said I decided to try Shogun anyway and was happy with my visit. The staff was very attentive, despite being moderately busy. The sushi was very good. They did have some unique special rolls on the menu, but no prices with them, and I didn't feel like asking. The place was clean, but the decor was lifeless and bland. However, this will not be a big problem for most patrons. Good food, decent price, attentive staff, bland decor sums it up
Besides the wait, the restaurant is always superb. Restrooms and floor areas always clean. Great food and great and friendly staff and chefs. Very interactive with children.
Not good we the only people there and had to wait for everything. They didn't know how to make a margarita. They brought me the check while we were eating. My chicken was really good but the filet was not good.
Pitiful waited on my food for 35 min in the sushi bar and it wasn't even fresh or hot. Yum yum didn't taste homemade. Also terrible lighting could hardly see!! Terrible don't go. Go to makata or wasbi!!
